DENVER (KDVR) — As July ends and August begins, the dog days of summer linger.
Temperatures will be 5 to 10 degrees above normal next weekend. Tuesday is expected to be the hottest day on the forecast in Denver, with highs near 100 degrees. Heat warnings were issued Tuesday afternoon for some of the Metro Front Range communities highlighted below.
Make sure to rest and stay hydrated during the hottest times of the day in these areas. According to Pinpoint Weather, Colorado's most accurate weather forecast, temperatures will slowly drop a few degrees each day through the weekend.
Tonight's weather: Sunny and comfortable
The sky will be mostly clear at night with light southerly winds. The Denver metro area has a comfortable and seasonal climate, with temperatures expected to be in the mid-50s and low-60s. The refreshing forties are here in most mountain towns. Some places even dip into the 40s, not far from the 30s.
Tomorrow's weather: Sunny, dry and hot
It's going to be another hot day, especially in the eastern half of Colorado, where highs could reach around 100 degrees.
There will be plenty of sunshine early in the day with some clouds moving through in the afternoon. Evening clouds may provide some shade in places. Dry conditions are expected across Colorado on Tuesday. As a result, wildfires remain a concern.
Looking Ahead: Hot weather, limited rain chances
Above normal temperatures will continue into next week. Starting Thursday, however, more clouds and possibly even a few evening storms are expected over parts of the Denver metro area and the Front Range.
Friday and Saturday are your best chances to get the moisture you need (not a good one). Scattered storms will develop in the afternoon and evening both days. Going into next week, there are only scattered rain chances.
