JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Action News Jax's First Alert weather team is tracking hot weather and increased tropical activity in the week ahead.
First Alert meteorologist Trevor Gibbs said temperatures will rise into the 90s Monday afternoon, with conditions remaining mostly dry throughout the day.
There will be a few inland showers and storms in the afternoon and a few evening showers and storms across Southeast Georgia. The Jacksonville metro area will remain mostly dry.

Temperatures and humidity will increase this week, with several storms expected each day.
As for the tropics, the First Alert Weather Team continues to focus on an area of disturbed weather in the Atlantic that could develop into the next tropical system. It will move west/northwest toward the northern Caribbean/Bahamas by Friday before approaching Florida and the southeastern United States over the weekend.
