Sunny skies today will push temperatures into the mid to upper 90s in most areas. Stirling City reported a century mark but otherwise we are still avoiding most triple figures at the moment. Winds will also be noticeable from the south at 10-15 mph.
Tonight we will see more clouds, especially around our southern counties, but unfortunately not much rain. Overall temperatures should drop into the mid-70s for most of us, with still breezy south winds around 10-20 mph.
Tomorrow we start a warm week as our temperatures reach triple digits. Now I think we'll stop being shy around town, but we should all remember to be heat safe as it looks like it's going to be a long week. Winds will still be a bit gusty from the south around 10-20 mph, with stronger gusts at times.
Going into this week, we will see that the chance of rain during the work week remains effectively close to zero. As this and upper-level ridges grow across the western United States, we will see our temperatures rise toward the hundred mark and beyond. It will gradually warm by a degree or two each day until the high temperature approaches 104° heading into Thursday through Saturday. Fortunately, we'll have some brief relief in the form of rain by the time Saturday and Sunday roll around. However, as it is far away and appears to be limited, the chance of rain currently remains around 20% or lower into next weekend.
