The latest computer models for next week's weather have meteorologists debating what we might face, with some fearing the worst.
UK forecaster Met4Cast said on Saturday: “The outlook for early August is absolutely terrible!
“Given that the AAM status is likely to be low, low pressure dominates the pattern, but I would expect that we would see more of a high pressure influence.”

Low pressure is bad news because as the air rises and cools, water vapor condenses to form clouds and perhaps rain.
This is why the weather in a depression (a period of low pressure) is often unsettled and often has a front associated with the depression.
Met Eireann has issued the following short-term forecast.
Tonight will be dry with sunny skies and a bit of mist. There will be a light breeze and the minimum temperature will be 7 to 10 degrees.
Sunday will be warm and dry with sunshine. It will become cloudier in the west later in the evening. The maximum temperature will be 18 to 23 degrees, with the center and east being the warmest, with light to moderate southerly winds.
Sunday night will be dry and sunny with lows of 10 to 13 degrees.
Monday will be dry and sunny. There will be light rain and drizzle in the west in the early afternoon, moving slowly eastward in the evening and night. Rainfall will be light and parts of the east and southeast will remain dry.
The maximum temperature ranges from 17 to 23 degrees, with the central, eastern and northeastern regions being the hottest. Monday night will be mild and dry with scattered mist or drizzle. The minimum temperature is 10 to 13 degrees.
Tuesday will be mainly dry. There will be quite a few clouds and some bright or sunny periods. A few showers are possible. It is warm and humid, with a maximum temperature of 19 to 24 degrees, and a breeze from the southwest.
