Current radar:
Houston – Nice to see the radar quiet down after last week’s wet week and last weekend. We expect the weather to remain relatively calm over the next few days as high pressure moves in from Florida. With the exception of a few isolated storms in the ocean breeze, radar should remain unstable for most of the day.

Today's forecast:
Temperatures are rising rapidly today compared to the past few weeks.
Southeast Texas will see another round of rain this afternoon and evening, but it will be very isolated as sea breezes pick up from the coast after lunch.
Monday's temperatures are a reminder that summer is still here and we will be reaching highs in the 90s and feeling like the 100s.
Track the tropics:
After a lull in the second half of July, the tropics will wake up next weekend. There is a 50% chance of a tropical wave forming in the Atlantic Ocean over the next seven days. Waves move into areas of the Sahara with less dust and less wind shear, giving the waves a chance to develop. If it becomes a tropical storm, it will become Debbie.
It has a 10% chance of becoming a hurricane near Florida on August 5, with a higher chance of tropical storm formation somewhere along the Georgia/Carolina coastline. If the system is able to form, a large dome of high pressure will keep the system away from Texas, as they will prevent the storm from getting closer to the Florida coast.
10-day forecast:
Saharan dust will cause haze for several days starting Tuesday afternoon. The haze will also help limit shower activity this week. Temperatures will remain in the mid-90s this week.
