HARRISBURG, Ill. — Ferrell Hospital announced Monday that flooding occurred again on Sunday following severe storms. Patients will be notified of any developments that may affect their upcoming appointment.
Sunday's flooding comes after the hospital experienced severe flooding in May that closed all departments, including emergency departments, and required all patients to be transferred to other facilities.
“Despite our best preparations, we experienced some water intrusion into limited areas of our building, primarily impacting our emergency room and clinic entrance areas,” according to a news release from the hospital on Monday.
Crews responded quickly to the flooding, immediately beginning cleanup procedures, consulting with professionals to assess the damage and “taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and integrity of our facilities,” the release said.
The hospital reiterates its commitment to patient care and patient safety as its top priority.
