After weeks of lull in the tropics due to increased amounts of Saharan dust, the National Hurricane Center is tracking areas of the Atlantic with disrupted weather.
There are widespread showers and thunderstorms in the eastern Windward Islands. It will move in a west-northwest direction this week. The model will demonstrate its progress this weekend near the Bahamas. There are some models showing the possibility of a tropical storm developing along the Southeast Coast early next week. The chance of development is 40%.
The next named storm of the 2024 hurricane season will be Debbie.
