The weather won't look like it was at the end of July starting Monday, with the week starting off with cooler temperatures and cloudy skies with a few showers. Rainfall amounts in the valley could be as low as trace to 0.20 inches Monday morning into early Tuesday. The evening continues until it ends early Tuesday.
It was a hot Thursday in early August, with temperatures in the valley quickly climbing into the 90s. Weather models are showing temperatures in Portland on Thursday and Friday at least in the mid-90s and possibly hotter. High temperatures in the 90s are likely to continue into Sunday. I do see cooler westerly winds moving towards the ocean on Sunday and into next week, but the overall air mass continues to show the potential for warm to hot weather.
KGW may issue an Impact Warning for hot weather Thursday through Saturday. If necessary, follow weather forecasts and plan your activities around high temperatures.
