The National Weather Service in Greenville-Spartanburg said it cannot rule out the possibility of localized flash flooding, especially in urban and poorly drained areas, and that there will be multiple rounds of heavy rainfall in the short term. Today's forecast shows an 80% chance of thunderstorms and temperatures reaching 85°F. Stormy weather is expected to continue into Tuesday, with a 50% chance of thunderstorms and highs reaching 90°F.
Looking ahead to the rest of the week, Wednesday is expected to be partly sunny with a high of 93°F and a brief reprieve from storms. However, the heat will intensify by the end of the week, with temperatures reaching 95°F on Thursday and 96°F on Friday under mostly sunny skies.
