MISSOULA – It's another warm and smoky day in western Montana, with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s.
Good news, the arrival of widespread rain and cooler temperatures on Tuesday is good preparation.
A cold front will move through western Montana late tonight into early Tuesday morning. Showers and some scattered thunderstorms are expected. These phenomena will be most prevalent Tuesday morning. This system is not expected to produce severe storms.
On Tuesday, temperatures dropped to the mid-70s after the frontal heat passed.
While the rain and cooler air continues, high pressure will quickly build to end the week and weekend. Temperatures will return to the mid-90s on Thursday and then back into the mid-90s to mid-100s Friday into the weekend.
