After a sunny but warm and humid weekend ends on Sunday, we'll be back to a more active weather pattern in the forecast for the first few days of the week.
Looking ahead to the start of the work week, our thunderstorm chances will return to forecast values. We'll see some sunshine as we work through the day on Monday, then a chance of showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, however, I wouldn't rule out the possibility of a few showers Monday morning. Then, we'll also continue to look ahead to Tuesday's storm chances. The high temperatures during the first half of next week will continue into Tuesday, with temperatures reaching around 80 degrees.
Once the first round of storms passes, we'll wrap things up and look ahead to midweek Wednesday. Sunny skies are expected throughout the day with a mix of clouds and temperatures warming again, rising into the upper 80s to lower 90s by Wednesday afternoon.
Looking ahead to Thursday and Friday, more widespread showers and thunderstorms are more likely across the region. High temperatures will be in the mid-80s both days, and there's a chance of significant rainfall in the area.
We'll have some thunderstorms in the forecast for next weekend starting Saturday, although I don't expect full thunderstorms to start the weekend. By Saturday afternoon, high temperatures remained in the upper 80s. As the weekend ends on Sunday, weather becomes dry again in the area, with high temperatures remaining in the mid-80s.
We're also keeping a close eye on the tropics now, where it looks like things may start to get active again just a few weeks after Hurricane Beryl. The National Hurricane Center is tracking waves across the Atlantic and predicts a tropical system could form within the next seven days as the waves move into the Caribbean. If you have any travel plans to the Caribbean next week, you'll want to pay close attention to the weather forecast as the itinerary is longer. Trends indicate that the tropics are likely to become active as we look toward early August.
