This pleasant weather pattern we've been seeing for a few days continues into mid-week. This means temperatures tend to be closer to normal and comfortable humidity levels, and cloud cover turns to sunshine at night and in the morning.
Through Wednesday, there will be light or gusty winds at times in the mountains and deserts. Fire danger will remain high due to dry heat and wind gusts of 15 to 30 mph.
High pressure over Texas will expand westward, bringing a warming trend that begins Thursday and intensifies over the weekend into early next week. In addition to the heat, humidity also rises as the monsoon returns. Storm activity is most likely this weekend into early next week, although mountain thunderstorms are possible as early as Thursday.
Isolated storms are possible in the mountains, possibly producing heavy rain, small hail, strong winds, flash flooding and lightning. While most of the storms will remain over the mountains and deserts, it looks like some of them may move west into the valleys on Monday, or even as early as Sunday.
High temperatures will return in the desert this weekend, with daytime highs near 115 degrees.
Tuesday's highs:
Coast: 72-79°
Inland: 86-92°
Mountain: 82-95°
Desert: 107-111°
