There will be a slight chance of showers and storms continuing into the early afternoon as the storm weakens, but more clouds and sunshine will emerge this afternoon, favoring more sunshine in the late afternoon and evening. Unfortunately, muggy weather is still here as dew points will be in the mid-60s and possibly as low as the low 70s, while temperatures will top out in the seasonal mid-80s. The same high pressure system will continue to move a little further east tonight into Wednesday, but should continue to keep things dry. It should be noted that during this period, a storm group may appear on the plains while moving eastward. There are some differences in the location near and north of the warm front moving through Iowa and Illinois.
