INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – It feels like the temperature will be close to 100° this afternoon.
This morning:
Severe weather has moved out of the area. We're keeping a close eye on a few isolated storms here early this morning, as well as scattered fog in places. Any fog issues will dissipate by around 10am.
Tuesday:
The day will look dry, hot, and humid with partly cloudy skies and highs around 90°. High humidity will bring our heat index to around 100°. An isolated storm is possible in parts of the southwestern part of the state after 3:00 or 4:00 this afternoon.
Tuesday night:
Another storm will continue later tonight and into the night. The strongest storm area appears to be southwest of Indianapolis, with a slight risk of severe weather. All types of severe weather can occur overnight southwest of Indianapolis.
Overnight lows will fall into the lower 70s.
Wednesday:
We'll see another round of scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day Wednesday. Some strong to severe storms will bring low-end threats, with damaging winds being the primary concern.
Meanwhile, the afternoon heat index could approach 100 degrees again.
Thursday:
Thursday will be another hot and humid day with highs in the lower 90s and a heat index between 100 and 105 degrees. There will also be scattered thunderstorms throughout the day.
7-day forecast:
We'll start to cool things down this weekend and into the weekend. Scattered rainfall is likely to continue on Friday, especially in the afternoon and evening. Severe weather is unlikely, at least in central Indiana, as the threat will shift eastward on Friday. High temperatures will top in the mid 80s. A few showers are possible Saturday morning; otherwise, most of the weekend should be dry with less humidity, with highs reaching the mid-80s.
