It's another warm and muggy start to the day, with “lowest temperatures” in the morning in the mid-70s to low 80s. New Orleans' all-time high is 91, set in 1986, and we may reach or exceed that number. The Prediction Center (SPC) has placed all of southeastern Louisiana at Levels 1 and 2 (out of 5) with the possibility of severe storms (marginal risk and minor risk). However, tornadoes pose less than a 2% threat to us. The greatest risk for severe weather will come from locally heavy rain, winds exceeding 58 mph and hail. Up to 80 degrees! Thursday will be hot and humid, with highs in the mid-90s but feeling more like 100! New Orleans' all-time high is 91, set in 1986, and we can match or exceed that number.
A strong and possibly severe storm is coming possible Thursday night, but most forecast trends have the storm continuing north into Mississippi.
