The Frankton-Lapeer Administration Building was among the reports of damage as severe weather hit Monday night.
MADISON COUNTY, Ind. — Reports of damaged structures are coming in Monday night after severe storms rolled through Madison County and parts of east-central Indiana.
Photos posted by 13News viewers show damage to the Frankton-Lapel Administration Building at County Road 300 North and County Road 800 West in Madison County.
A spokesman for the Edgewood Volunteer Fire Department said the building was a former school and now houses administrative offices. Back-to-school events were held in the building early Monday.
The spokesman also said about a dozen school buses parked near the building were damaged.
Representatives from the National Weather Service are expected to visit the area Tuesday to inspect the damage and determine whether it was caused by a tornado or straight-line winds.
Numerous tornado warnings were issued Monday night in Madison, Henry, Fayette, Wayne and Union counties. Much of central Indiana will be under severe thunderstorms throughout the night and into Tuesday morning.
There have been no reports of injuries.
