LAPEER, Ind. (WISH) – Severe storms Monday night caused damage to the Frankton Lapeer School Administration Building.
The National Weather Service will be at the building Tuesday to determine if wind or a tornado caused the damage and to determine wind speeds, according to Madison County Emergency Management and Homeland Security.
The Lafayette Township Volunteer Fire Department posted on Facebook that space now used for offices and a gym in the former Jackson School and current administration building was severely damaged.
The post read: “The gym was destroyed due to wall and roof collapse. Several buses were damaged, as well as much of the building's roof system. Earlier, it was confirmed that there was a debris field near Perkinsville, but it took It took some time before it was discovered. No injuries were reported and all units remained on scene.
