Severe storms swept through the tri-state area overnight, dumping 1 to 4 inches of rain in northern areas and at least one tornado in Warren and Clinton counties near Blancchester and Midland.
The rain has stopped, but it’s muggy outside! Skies will become partly cloudy by late morning, then mostly clear this afternoon. The rest of today will be dry but still hot and humid. Our high of 90 degrees felt more like 96 degrees.
Scattered showers and storms are possible again tonight, but confidence in the forecast is not high. It all depends on whether storms develop in Illinois and Indiana late Tuesday night. When looking at the weather models, some have us completely dry tonight and a few have scattered isolated storms between 3am and 7am.
We expect most areas to be dry on Wednesday. The temperature climbed to 91 degrees with a heat index of 98 degrees. By the late afternoon and evening we will begin to see isolated storms develop again.
The high temperature rose to 94 degrees on Thursday, with the heat index crossing the 100-degree mark. Once again, we will see a chance for showers and storms, but not a complete washout.
