GAINESVILLE, Fla. (WCJB) – The NCFL is getting a mix of sunshine and wet weather as we prepare to wrap up July.
- Tuesday: Mainly sunny and cloudy in the afternoon, with scattered showers and thundershowers. Highs in the low/mid 90s.
- Tuesday night: There will be a few storms in the evening, becoming partly cloudy overnight. Low/mid 70s.
- Wednesday: Partly cloudy with afternoon showers and a few storms. Highs in the low/mid 90s.
- Extensions: Depending on developments in the tropics, the chance of rain may increase later into the weekend.
Our Tuesday starts calmly with some limited shower activity in the Bay Area. Sunshine and some clouds are expected toward midday. In the afternoon, be on the lookout for showers and scattered storms… heavy rain is possible in some areas. Temperatures rising into the low/mid 90s…it “feels” about 105 degrees…so be careful outside! Skies will be partly clear overnight and temperatures will drop into the mid-70s in the morning. As the weekend approaches, there is a chance of rain every day. Depending on developments in the tropics, moisture and rainfall chances may increase late into the weekend into early next week.
Speaking of the tropics, we continue to watch tropical waves east of the Lesser Antilles in the Atlantic Ocean. According to the National Hurricane Center, the system has a 60% chance of developing. As it moves west-northwest, the wave will move into more favorable conditions and could become a tropical depression as it approaches Cuba or the Bahamas this weekend. stay tuned!
