Ohio reports damage after severe storms Wednesday
Severe thunderstorms hit Ohio on Wednesday, wreaking havoc across the northern Buckeye State. The town of Bucyrus was particularly hard hit, with photos showing damage to homes and several trees blown down by strong winds. A resident told Fox Weather Channel that she was one of five people inside a Bucyrus Family Dollar store when part of its roof collapsed during the storm. Video taken after the severe weather showed extensive damage to the store.
Severe weather threat returns to country's heartland on Thursday
For the second time this week, a powerful storm has struck the center of the country. Thursday's threat extends from the Midwest into Texas, but areas at highest risk for severe weather include parts of Missouri, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky and Tennessee. This is where tornadoes, damaging wind gusts and large hail can occur.
Record heat expected across Southeast as Florida bakes
Summer heat is expected across the Southeast on Thursday. Nearly a dozen cities from North Carolina to Florida are expected to challenge record highs, with temperatures rising above 90 degrees in some places.
Gloomy weather continues in Northeast China
Sunny, warm weather across the Northeast has been replaced by cloudy, wet weather that will continue for at least the next few days. Major cities such as New York, Philadelphia and Washington will be covered by clouds on Friday, but sunshine is expected to return over the weekend.
