While there will be scattered storms today, rain is possible Thursday into early next week. Rainfall amounts of 2-4 inches are possible over the next seven days, and individual higher amounts cannot be ruled out.
Today and tonight: Today's conditions will be similar to the past few days, just with heavier rainfall and slightly cooler temperatures. Highs will be near 94 degrees under partly sunny skies. Humidity remains high, causing peak temperatures near 108 degrees. Storms are possible again in the afternoon and evening. These will be spread out over nature, so about half of the viewing area will see measurable rainfall. The sky will be cloudy tonight with a low near 79 degrees.
Next: Weather patterns are about to become more unstable. Showers and storms are possible Thursday into early next week. So far, Friday looks to be the best rainy day. Heavy rain is also possible, causing some isolated flash flooding. Over the next seven days, 2-4 inches of rain may fall, with higher totals in some areas. The good news is that temperatures will drop into the low 90s during this unstable pattern. This will provide us with some much needed relief after the hot weather we have experienced.
Tropical areas: No tropical developments are expected over the next seven days in the North Atlantic, Caribbean, and Gulf of Mexico.
