    Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah appeals to corporates to donate generously to Kerala landslide victims

    Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Wednesday appealed to the corporate world to donate generously to provide relief and rehabilitation services to people hit by massive landslides in Wayanad district of neighboring Kerala.

    In a message to corporates, Siddaramaiah exhorted them to help rehabilitate the affected areas through corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

    “The scale of the disaster is such that it requires a coordinated and generous response from all sectors of society, especially business entities who have always provided support in times of need,” the Prime Minister said in the letter.

    Wayanad landslides live updates: IAF's C-17s arrive in Wayanad with equipment for construction of Bailey Bridge

    The C-17 of the Indian Air Force, carrying Indian Army personnel as well as parts and equipment for the construction of Bailey Bridge, will arrive at Kannur International Airport from Delhi at around 11:30 am.

    The operation will be coordinated by Captain Puran Singh Natha Vath of the Defense Security Corps (DSC), Kannur. Bridge construction materials will be transported to Wayanad in 17 trucks to facilitate search and rescue operations in landslide-hit areas of Kerala.
