    In a dramatic turn of events, a woman from Chhattisgarh was rescued after being swept 16 kilometers away by strong currents with her legs tied with iron chains. The rescue took place in Odisha, where local fishermen came to her aid. The incident took place in Saranghar district, which was recently formed from Raigarh district.

    The woman's name is Sarojini Ranbir, who comes from Porath village in Chhattisgarh, about 16 kilometers from Parsada in Odisha. The circumstances that led to her being swept away are unclear, but her miraculous survival and subsequent rescue sparked local concern.

    Local fishermen in Jharsuguda found her safe and sound while fishing in the Mahanadi River and brought her ashore. She was later handed over to Odisha police. An investigation is underway to determine who bound her feet with chains.

    Witnesses said the woman had a thick iron chain tied to her leg and appeared to be in a bad state of mind. Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
