The private bus was traveling on Route 13 from Kunjathbail to Mangaladevi Temple.

In a remarkable act of humanity, a private bus was converted into an ambulance in Mangaluru on July 30 when a student on board showed signs of heart attack. It took 6 minutes to drive 6 kilometers to reach the hospital. The private bus was traveling on Route 13 from Kunjathbail to Mangaladevi Temple. The driver was a man named Gajendra Kundar and another conductor named Mahesh Poojary. Suresh also joined them, as was another driver who was supposed to take over from Kundal. Around 10-15 students of Yenepoya University boarded the bus at Kuloor around 3 pm. When the bus reached Kottara Chowki, a girl student sitting near the front door complained of chest pain. Even though her college classmates were taking care of her, Mr. Kundal, Mr. Pujari and Mr. Suresh decided to take a bus to a nearby hospital.

Ganjendra Kumar did not lose his mind and turned on the siren sign on the bus heading to the hospital. Mr Kundal was bused to Father Muller Medical College Hospital in Kankanady within six minutes, ruling out any pause. The bus was parked outside the casualty area, violating safety guidelines. Staff moved the student to the hospital. Thanks to the bus driver's quick response, the student was able to receive timely treatment. Currently, video of the incident is circulating online. Azia Parthapady, president of the Dakshina Kannada Bus Operators Association, praised the three staff members of the private bus for their quick response to the emergency and ensuring that the students received prompt treatment.

Driving at high speeds is inherently dangerous, but this time the driver's quick response saved a college student's life. The resourcefulness of using siren signs to ensure a significant reduction in traffic demonstrates the responsible nature of bus drivers.
