CCTV cameras have been installed to monitor the activities of the crocodiles.
Initially, forest department officials placed a cage near the well to capture the crocodile.
A huge 9-foot-long crocodile was rescued from a residential well in Nagur village in Byndoor taluk in Udupi district of Karnataka on Wednesday, July 31. A cage was placed nearby. However, when this step didn't work, the crocodile was saved by throwing a fishing net. The rescued reptile has been moved to a safe place. Aquatic animals are making their way into people's homes due to flooding caused by recent heavy rains. It was a similar situation in Udupi district where locals believed crocodiles had broken into their houses. After a day-long operation, residents of Manju and Sudhakar of Kodli village finally caught the reptile in a fishing net. An animal lover named Snake Pawan from North Kannada has now brought the crocodile to a safe place with the help of the forest department.
Under the guidance of the forest department, and with the cooperation of locals, the trapped crocodile was lifted, as seen in the Local 18 Kannada video. Rakshak, a Nagul network and security solutions company, installed CCTVs to monitor the activities of the crocodiles. In the visual, social media users can see how officials ensured the crocodile did not attack them. One of them sat on its back while the other injected him with some solution to calm the reptile. The officer sitting in the back showed extraordinary courage as he continued to hold his chin for an extended period of time during the sedation process. Despite the brave action, officials did not engage in any animal cruelty in order to deal with the crocodile. They made sure to treat the reptile with great tact and patience.
Finally, after a long struggle, officials were able to leave the reptile in its natural habitat, a nearby lake. They filmed the crocodile crawling in the lake.
Byndoor Tahsildar Pradeep Ram, police sub-inspector BN Thimmesh, range forest officer Sandesh and other officials supervised the rescue operation, Mangalore Today reported. On Tuesday and Wednesday, locals nearby gathered to witness the rare sighting of a crocodile in the well.
