Media reports said the Center may introduce a bill to curb the “unfettered” powers of boards of religious and communal organizations, while AIMIM president Asaduddin Owaisi on Sunday claimed that the NDA government Wants to strip away the autonomy of boards of directors of religious and communal organizations.
He claimed that the BJP was opposed to Waqf boards and waqfs “from the very beginning” and was trying to end waqfs and waqfs as per its “Hindu agenda”.

The Hyderabad MP said that if there are any changes in the establishment and composition of boards of religious and communal organizations, there will be “administrative chaos” and the boards of religious and communal organizations will lose their autonomy.
The proposed amendments indicate that government officials will investigate disputed properties rather than adjudicating the matter in court. Owaisi claimed that if the survey had been conducted by the BJP government, the result would have been that the property was not the property of the Muslim Waqf.
Owaisi said there are many mosques in India and the mosques claimed by the BJP are not mosques. “All in all, if media reports are true, the Modi government wants to take away the properties of the boards of religious and communal organizations from the hands of Muslims,” he said.
He warned that the BJP's allies must consider whether they want Muslims to be deprived of their waqf properties.
He pointed out that when Parliament was in session, the government informed the media of the matter without notifying Parliament, which violated the principle of parliamentary supremacy.
