Four non-bailable arrest warrants and one bailable arrest warrant issued by the State Commission against Sanjeev Jain are pending
Delhi Police said Sanjeev Jain, director and CEO of Parsvnath Landmark Developers, a subsidiary of Parsvnath Developers, was arrested on Sunday after a 60-km chase. A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Jain for failing to appear before the Consumer Commission on July 18.
The police informed that they received information that Sanjeev Jain was trying to flee India. Based on this information, the police set up a trap and began to hunt down the CEO of the developer of Parsvnath Landmark.
The cat-and-mouse game between Delhi Police and Sanjeev Jain lasted for about 60 kilometers. Although the police were chasing Jain, he managed to reach the airport and escape. However, the police arrested him.
After his arrest, Sanjeev Jain was produced before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission.
Surendra Chaudhary, deputy commissioner of police, Shahdara, said the consumer council lodged a complaint against Sanjeev Kumar Jain, managing director of Parsvanath Developers Private Limited, in 2017.
According to police, four non-bailable arrest warrants and one bailable arrest warrant issued by the State Commission at Shahdara police station are pending against Sanjeev Jain. Based on all these arrest warrants, the task force tried to arrest Sanjeev Jain.
Police received information that Sanjeev was staying in an apartment in DLF Phase II in Gurgaon, Haryana. When the police reached the spot, Sanjeev somehow escaped from the spot. The police chased him for about 60 kilometers and captured him.
