The Indian-origin CEO of an American startup has promised his users a free one-day visa to all countries if athlete Neeraj Chopra wins gold at the Paris Olympics. A post on LinkedIn by Mohak Nahta of Atlys surprised and excited internet users, with many asking how to apply for the offer.
“If Neeraj Chopra wins gold at the Olympics, I will personally send free visas to everyone. Let's go, India,” he wrote in a post on LinkedIn.
Chopra, who will compete in the men's javelin event on August 8, is the defending champion and one of India's biggest medal hopes. Atlys helps users quickly apply for travel visas to learn the latest information about travel destinations.
After his proposal aroused great curiosity, Nata explained the deal to his users in another post a few hours ago.
“On July 30, I promised everyone that Neeraj Chopra would get a free visa if he won the gold medal. Since many people have asked for details, here’s how it will work: Neeraj Chopra will compete for the medal on August 8.
Nahta further said that there will be no visa fees and the offer covers all countries. “Will we charge you anything? The cost of your visa is ZERO – entirely borne by us. What countries are covered by this offer?
All countries – choose where you want to go next,” he added.
Nahta said all users have to do is leave an email in the comments and Atlys can create an account with free visa credits. The post garnered more than 2,000 reactions (at the time of filing this report), prompting widespread comment.
While many praised the CEO's “patriotism” and “impressive” marketing strategy, others praised his innovation.
