The 57-year-old salesman, who was reportedly suffering from depression, allegedly strangled his wife, a physiotherapist, before jumping to his death.
In a shocking incident in Goregaon, Mumbai, the body of a 57-year-old salesman was found on the road in front of a building. When the police went to inform his wife about his death, they found her lying in her apartment on the floor.
According to police, the man strangled his wife and then jumped to his death. The incident took place on August 2 and the victims were identified as Kishor Pednekar, who sells fitness equipment, and his wife Rajeshree, a physiotherapist.
“The incident came to light at 5.30 am in Jawahar Nagar area. Pednekar killed his wife Rajshree and then committed suicide by jumping off the building,” a police officer said.
Police said Pednekar, who was reportedly suffering from depression, was found lying on the road in front of Topiwala House. He was taken to hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival, they said.
“… A call to his wife to inform him of the death went unanswered and the couple’s apartment was found locked. The key was found in a locket worn by Pedneka.
When the apartment was opened, Rajshree was found lying in the lobby and she was pronounced dead on arrival at a nearby hospital, police said.
“The couple's son, who works in Delhi, has been informed about the death. A case of accidental death has been registered at the Goregaon police station and further investigation is underway.
