The woman, who was traveling to Borneghat in Maharashtra's Satara district with her friends, was injured and was taken to a local hospital after being rescued by local residents and the National Guard, police said.
A 29-year-old woman was rescued after falling into a 100-foot-deep ravine in Maharashtra's Satara district during heavy rains. She was reportedly taking a selfie when she slipped. Video of her rescue went viral on social media.

In the video, local residents can be seen throwing a thick rope down the canyon and a man descends to rescue the woman to safety. According to police, the woman was injured and rescued by local residents and home guards and taken to a local hospital.
Police said the incident took place on Saturday night (August 3) when the woman from Pune was visiting Borne Ghat in Satara district with her friends. According to reports, the local government has banned tourists from entering the area where the incident occurred.
Home guards and local residents used ropes to pull the woman to safety, officials said.
A few days ago, Mumbai-based chartered accountant Anvi Kamdar fell into a gorge while working on a film in Maharashtra's Raigad district last month. The 27-year-old man was on a monsoon outing with seven friends when he accidentally fell into a 300-foot-deep gorge near the famous Kumbhe Falls in Mangaon.
Kamdar was taking video of the surrounding scenery when he suddenly slipped and fell into the canyon. After receiving the call from her friend, police and local rescuers rushed to the scene and took her to a nearby government hospital, but she died during treatment.
