The Shatagopam must have Vishnu's feet on it.
Shatagopan should be taken appropriately in temples as it helps reduce anger and anxiety in the body.
Devotees in Telangana visit temples in the morning to worship the gods and pray for a better life and happiness. In most temples in Telangana, Shatta Gopam is placed on the heads of devotees to bless them. It is a sacred dome-shaped vessel used in Hindu temple rituals and worship. It is traditionally made from copper, which is revered in Hindu tradition for its purity and conductivity. It is used for various purposes, including storing holy water, sprinkling holy water on devotees and performing abhishekam (ritual bathing) for the deity. While talking to Local18, temple priest Rudrabhatla Srikanth explained the benefits of Shatagopam.
Talking about the importance of Shatagopam, Pastor Rudrabhatla Srikanth said that Shatagopam means secrecy. When we desire God, we should desire those desires in our hearts and not let anyone hear us. Said Pastor Rudrabhatla Srikanth. He suggested that Shatta Gopam should be removed from the head as it helps men stay away from anger and greed.
The priest explained that when metal comes into contact with the head, the power within the body is dispersed. According to Pastor Rudrabhatla Srikanth, based on the properties of the Shatagopam metal, the electric charge inserted into the body helps reduce anger and anxiety. That is why copper, bronze and silver are used to make Shathagopa. The priest said that the Shatta Gopam must have Vishnu's feet on it.
A special puja conducted by the temple priests. During the puja, the priest performs arhana and gives aarti. Before offering Tirtha Prasadam, the temple priests bless the devotees by placing shatagopam on their heads. Pastor Rudrabhatla Srikanth said everyone can feel the positive energy. “Even if it is for a while, you will feel calm throughout the whole day after going to the temple because there is a peaceful atmosphere there,” said priest Rudrabhatla Srikanth. He said prasad is worshiped in the temple along with aarti because of its traditional importance.
