Federal Minister Giriraj Singh accuses Rahul Gandhi of having 'napak' ties with Pakistan after Pakistan embassy reports on mangoes, triggering political row
The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday accused Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders of having “napak” (impure) ties with Pakistan after reports emerged that the Islamabad embassy sent mangoes to Gandhi and other Lok Sabha MPs.
“Some time ago, Rahul Gandhi said that he did not like mangoes from Uttar Pradesh. Now, the Pakistan embassy has sent mangoes to him. He should clarify what else he likes. Has he gone to Pakistan to seek help in ousting Modi? Union Minister Giri Giriraj Singh said targeting the Leader of Opposition (LoP).
Mango row
Singh said Gandhi's recent criticism of Prime Minister Narendra Modi was an attempt to seek Pakistan's support in overthrowing the current NDA government. He further questioned, “Rahul Gandhi should tell him if he went to Pakistan to raise any demand to overthrow Modi.” The LoP is yet to respond to the controversy.
