The conflict between the Indian Police Service (IPS) and the Indian Revenue Service (IRS), popularly known as cadre clashes, will now also feature the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
Senior government sources said that the CBI will first deduct five police officers from the Indian Revenue Service (IRS) cadre and deploy them at the level of Superintendent of Police (SP).
“The CBI usually recruits staff from the IPS or from the original cadre of the CBI at the level or level of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP),” sources said, adding, “This change is to enable the CBI to handle Economic crime cases.
These officers are IRS officers for the years 2014-2016.
