    Police said an FIR has been lodged against Chaudhry and 20 unidentified persons under relevant legal sections.

    Members of a Hindu right-wing group attacked a group of people living near a railway station here and destroyed their shacks, claiming they were Bangladeshi infiltrators, police said on Saturday.

    They said Hindu Raksha Dal president Bhupendra Chowdhary and Badal, alias Hariom Singh, were arrested on Saturday night in connection with the case. catch.

    Officials said the attacker was not Bangladeshi and that Chaudhry, also known as “Pinky,” and 20 others had been booked for rioting, hurting religious sentiments and other crimes.

    They said some residents were injured in the incident which took place around 7.30pm on Friday.

    Ghaziabad police chief Ajay Kumar Mishra told Press Trust of India (PTI), “The people living in the huts are from Shahjahanpur (Uttar Pradesh) and Not Bangladesh. Mishra added: “The police are considering invoking the National Security Act (NSA) against the attackers in this case. “

    According to police, the incident took place near Guldar railway station when Chaudhry arrived there along with 20 of his supporters.

    The group accused the residents of being illegal immigrants from Bangladesh and continued to vandalize their makeshift shelter, police said.

    According to ACP (Kavinagar) Abhishek Srivastava, after receiving information about the incident, an investigation was conducted and it was revealed that the victim was not a Bangladeshi national.

    Sub-inspector Sanjiv Kumar, who is on duty in Sector 23 of Sanjay Nagar, lodged a first information report (FIR) at the local Madhuban Bapudham police station.

    Kumar claimed in his complaint that he and a police team rushed to the spot after hearing some commotion and they saw Pinki and his supporters abusing and attacking some Muslims while shouting anti-Bangladesh slogans. The team also dismantled the shed.

    “I tried to explain to them that these people are not from Bangladesh, but they continued beating them and damaging their homes,” Kumar said in his complaint.

    Police said an FIR has been lodged against Chaudhry and 20 unidentified persons under relevant legal sections.

    ACP Srivastava said legal action will be taken against those involved and the culprits will be arrested soon.

    Chowdhary is the only accused named in the FIR, which is filed under sections 191(2) (rioting), 115(2) (voluntarily causing hurt), 117(4) (causing grievous hurt), 299 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) Article proposed. And caused the behavior)).
