However, the Samajwadi Party has distanced itself from the controversy, saying Nawab Singh Yadav is no longer a party worker.

A former 'Block Pramukh' was arrested on Monday for allegedly trying to rape a 15-year-old girl, sparking a row between the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Samajwadi Party.

The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party lashed out at the Samajwadi Party, claiming that the accused had been a close associate of senior party leader Dimple Yadav when she was the Lok Sabha MP from Kanauj.

However, the Samajwadi Party has distanced itself from the controversy, saying Nawab Singh Yadav is no longer a party worker.

Kannauj Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar Anand said: “Around 1.30 am, the UP 112 service center received a call in which the girl claimed that she had stripped naked and someone was trying to rape her.” The officer said the girl had gone with her aunt to meet him. The defendant called them on the pretext that she was looking for a job.

The girl said in her complaint that when her aunt went to the bathroom, Yadav tried to force himself on her. But according to police, when she returned and saw Yadav in his underwear, they immediately called 112.

After receiving the alarm, the local police and PRV team rushed to the scene immediately. The girl was rescued and the accused was detained due to poor condition,” SP Anand said.

“Based on the complaint, we have lodged an FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and POCSO Act. The accused have been arrested and further legal proceedings are on.

Yadav, however, denied all the accusations, calling it a conspiracy and vowed to fight for justice. “This was a capitalist conspiracy. The victim denied it but despite this, medical tests were conducted six times. We will continue to fight against injustice,” Yadav said.

Meanwhile, BJP spokesperson Rakesh Tripathi launched a scathing attack on the Samajwadi Party, seeking to link the Kannauj incident with the recent Ayo incident involving a minor girl. Tia rape case equated.

“Nawab Singh Yadav was not only a minor leader of the Samajwadi Party but was also the face of (former) Congress MP Dimple Yadav,” Tripathi said. “The Samajwadi Party has always been based on what the boy is. Boy, they make wrong policies to cover up such crimes ('ladke hai, ladko se galti ho jaati hai) first Moeed Khan of Ayodhya and Nawab Yadav of Kanauj. . This is the true character of SP,” he said.

Samajwadi Party Kannauj unit president Kaleem Khan said in an interview that Yadav is not currently a member of the party.

“This is his personal issue and the Samajwadi Party has nothing to do with it,” Khan added.

On July 30, UP Ayodhya district police arrested Moid Khan and his employee Raju Khan, who ran a bakery in Bhadarsa Nagar in Ayodhya district, on charges related to Related to the rape of an underage girl.

UP CM Yogi Adityanath said in a parliamentary statement on August 1, “Moeed Khan is from the Samajwadi Party and is a member of the MLA team from Ayodhya (Faizabad). Samajwadi The party is yet to take any action against him, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav urged the court to order protection of the Ayodhya rape survivor and said those trying to “politicize” the case must not be allowed.
