Bangladeshi doctors go on indefinite strike to demand justice for victims
The Federation of Resident Doctors' Associations (FORDA) on Monday called for a nationwide medical strike to protest against the sexual assault and murder of a female postgraduate trainee doctor at the state-run RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata. Resident doctors in Bangladesh are on an indefinite strike to demand justice for the victims.
“After a call from @FordaIndia, RDAs of all 10 government hospitals in Delhi have started strike from today. Resident doctors in Uttar Pradesh, Punjab and Jammu have also started strike from today. All other state RDAs will join today,” FORDA INDIA Secretary Dr. Meet Ghonia said.

On Friday, the half-naked body of a female PGT doctor, a second-year student in the thoracic department, was found in the seminar hall of the hospital. She was on duty Thursday night and suffered multiple injuries. Her father claimed she was raped and murdered inside the hospital after a preliminary autopsy report revealed she had been sexually abused before her murder.
Kolkata Police identified and arrested one suspect in the case, Sanjay Roy. Roy was an outsider who had easy access to multiple departments of the hospital due to his role as a citizen volunteer on the Police Welfare Committee. Sources said Roy's activities were found to be quite suspicious and he was subsequently arrested.
