The National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) and the Indian Railways Catering and Tourism Corporation Limited (IRCTC) have partnered to provide some Namo Bharat trains running on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor under the 'One India One Vote' scheme. Tickets are available, an official statement was announced on Monday. Last month, Delhi Metro and IRCTC also launched a similar collaboration.
Tickets for Namo Bharat trains, also known as Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS), can be booked for daily commuting or can be bundled with Indian Railways tickets.
For holders of valid train tickets, tickets for RRTS services can be booked up to 120 days in advance, in line with the current Rail Reservation Window (ARP). After booking a train ticket, if there is an RRTS station nearby, a window will pop up to prompt the user to book the RRTS ticket.
“If users did not make a reservation initially, they can revisit the booking history and choose to book RRTS tickets later. Even without purchasing a train ticket, users can book Namo Bharat train tickets for daily use through the IRCTC platform, which are valid for that day travel.
The NCRTC said in a statement that it is also exploring the feasibility of providing unlimited travel passes for one to three days to promote tourism in the Delhi-NCR region.
The Namo Bharat or RRTS scheme, implemented by NCRTC in the National Capital Region, is a first-of-its-kind train in India that provides dedicated, high-speed, high-capacity commuter services between Delhi, Ghaziabad and Meerut. Only one part of it – between Sahibabad and Modi Nagar North in Ghaziabad – is operational, while work on the remaining stretches is ongoing. The entire corridor is expected to be operational by the target deadline of 2025.
“This innovative collaboration between IRCTC and NCRTC aims to provide seamless travel solutions and make it easier for passengers to book and travel using Indian Railways and RRTS services. After booking on IRCTC train e-ticket, users can now choose to book and travel on every A maximum of eight passengers per booking can book Namo Bharat train tickets as an add-on service,” an official statement said.
The RRTS booking option will be displayed on the PNR confirmation page and can also be accessed from the user's train ticket booking history.
Each RRTS ticket will generate a unique QR code and conveniently print it on the Electronic Reservation Form (ERS).
“The QR code is valid for four days, starting one day before the RRTS travel date, the travel date itself and two days after the travel date. Every passenger on the train ticket will receive a Namo Bharat ticket with a dedicated QR code, Ensuring a hassle-free travel experience All Namo Bharat tickets booked on a single train ticket will share the same origin and destination stations for all passengers.
Upon successful booking of Namo Bharat tickets, users will receive confirmation via SMS and email with unique RRTS QR code details sent to the registered mobile number and email address.

Namo Bharat train ticket fare along with IRCTC convenience fee (Rs. 5 + taxes) can be collected easily using the online payment modes available on the IRCTC platform. If the user cancels the booking, the full RRTS fare will be refunded, while the IRCTC convenience fee, payment gateway fees and related taxes will not be refunded.
“Users can simply scan the RRTS QR code at the station entrance using ERS or mobile app to easily enter and travel according to the booked itinerary details. Namo Bharat train tickets can be purchased through the IRCTC platform (train, air, bus , chatbot, etc.) booking.
Last month, IRCTC, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Center for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) joined hands to launch a first-of-its-kind scheme where users can book metro tickets along with rail bookings.
Unlike the previous practice that allowed users to book tickets on the day of travel and be valid for that day, users can now book subway tickets together with train tickets up to 120 days in advance.
Furthermore, metro tickets are valid for one journey for four days, starting from one day before the DMRC travel date, the travel date itself and two days after the travel date. This is also part of the “one print, one vote” initiative.
