According to Local18, Rakshitha has become the first Indian female sprinter to compete in the 1500m event in the upcoming Paralympic Games. She is a visually impaired young woman living in Balur Guddadahalli in Mudigere town of Chikmagalur district.
More information revealed that Rakshitha lost her mother when she was two years old and her father died when she was ten. She was raised by her grandmother, a deaf-mute old woman who made sure that Rakshitha got all the love she deserved while growing up. This athlete has won the hearts of others with her talent, solidifying her status as one of the best athletes in the country.
According to Local18, Rakshitha completed her education at Ashakirana School for the Blind in Chikkamagaluru district headquarters, where she received important guidance from her teacher Cynthia Fess, who had a profound impact on her life. Despite all the struggles, Rakshitha kept the challenges to herself and was determined to achieve great things. With the support of her coach Rahul, she grew into a global talent. Rakshitha is now preparing to compete in the 1500m middle distance event at the upcoming Paris Paralympic Games, which will be held from August 28 to September 8.
In 2016, she participated in the National Sports Championships for the Visually Impaired in Delhi and won the 400m event. Rakshitha subsequently won medals at the Asian Para Games in 2018 and 2023.
