“Why are certain things being done? Why zoning?” Sadhguru asked in a video on his social media account.
In a video posted on his social media account, spiritual leader Sadhguru reflects on the consequences of the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan, which resulted in the massacre of 1 million people and the forced displacement of 6-7 million people .
In this video on X and Instagram, Sadhguru is in conversation with writer Vikram Sampath. “Why are certain things being done? Why are there divisions?” Sadhguru asked, stressing that the nation needs to find the courage to face the harsh realities of the past and seek answers to these lingering questions.
He further explained that the issues surrounding Partition were not religious issues but humanitarian issues that needed to be examined. “Even now, this country doesn't have the courage to face these questions and find the answers. I feel like the next generation has to ask these questions,” he asserted.
Sadhguru stressed the importance of the younger generation understanding these events and cited the plight of 6 million people who were forced from their homes and livelihoods, many of whom are still living in refugee camps 75 years later.
“If you let your humanity sleep, you will forget everything,” Sadhguru said. “But if your humanity is alive, these questions must be asked and answered for our generation and especially for the next generation.”
