Passengers were thrown into a frenzy after two coaches of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express detached from the moving train near Surat.
According to Western Railway reports, the incident occurred near Gothangam Yard in Vadodara division at 8.50 pm on Thursday when the train's coupler started malfunctioning, causing the carriage to become detached from the moving train. However, no passengers were injured as the train moved slowly and stayed on the tracks.
At 8:50, the two carriages of the Ahmedabad-Mumbai Double Decker Express train No. 12932 separated near the Gothangam yard in Vadodara division. The rear and front parts have been brought to the platform.
Upbound trains are running via the Circle Line.

When the train stopped, passengers got off. A railway team rushed to the scene to carry out repair work. As restoration work began, the rear and front parts of the train were brought to the platform.
Passengers panicked after the incident, with many getting off the train and standing near the railway line. Train traffic from Ahmedabad to Mumbai was briefly disrupted following the incident.
Western Railway announced at 11.37am that the repair work was complete. It also said mainline traffic had resumed.
