Prime Minister Modi is likely to visit Poland and Ukraine from August 21 to 23.
The United States welcomes India's participation in the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine and its efforts to bring peace between the two countries, US State Department Deputy Spokesperson Vedant Patel said here.
Patel was responding to a question about Prime Minister Narendra Modi's possible visit to Ukraine later this month.
“I will let the (Indian) prime minister's office talk about any travel of his own. I have nothing to offer,” he told his daily news conference on Wednesday.
“We remain engaged with our Indian partners on many issues and, of course, we welcome India's involvement in the war between Russia and Ukraine, particularly as it relates to ensuring that we achieve a just and lasting peace that reflects our What our Ukrainian partners are trying to do is defend their territorial integrity and sovereignty,” Patel said.
Modi is likely to visit Poland and Ukraine from August 21 to 23.
