In an exclusive chat, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, a CPI (Marxist) lawmaker and lawyer for the victims' families, alleged that the ruling Trinamool Congress party in West Bengal is engaging in Political activities to cover up the matter. Bhattacharya had earlier claimed that “150 milligrams of semen” was found in the victim's body but has now reneged on it, TMC said
Large reports of “150 milligrams (and in some cases 150 grams) of fluid” initially rumored to be semen found during the autopsy by the victim's doctor led many to conclude that this was a gang rape. But the case of the young doctor who was raped to death at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata has taken a turn for the worse. News18 has reviewed the post-mortem report, which states that the 150 grams mentioned refers to the weight of the victim's internal or internal genitalia, specifically the weight of the uterus, and not the weight of any liquid.
However, Bikash Ranjan Bhattacharya, a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and lawyer for the victim’s family, said in an exclusive conversation, “This is 150 grams of liquid and whether it is semen needs to be investigated. “We need further investigation and testing.” In earlier petitions it was called semen, but now it's liquid; that's the problem. This problem has nothing to do with semen volume. The issue relates to the nature of the damage to the body found by the autopsy surgeon. So if they're trying to confuse it by semen volume, they're doing that on purpose. The charges allege she was attacked by multiple people, not just one person. Forensic experts also said the injuries she sustained could not have been caused by one person.
A senior forensic scientist who has seen the autopsy report told News18 on Friday that forensic scientists and doctors always record the weight of organs in such reports and in this case, 150 grams was an anatomical measurement and not the amount of fluid.
But Bhattacharya refused to disclose details of the autopsy, insisting that it did appear to indicate a gang rape and that the state's ruling Trinamool Congress was engaging in politicking to cover it up.
The TMC said Bhattacharya had earlier made the claim about “semen” but now backtracked.
CPI(M) leaders and other opposition members have been targeting West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee. “This was the clear game plan of the TMC. Around 4 pm, the chief minister addressed the meeting. She said you all had instigated it, now it is my turn. I will show it. Then at midnight, the vandalism happened. These People are collected by the TMC and it can be seen from the way people are collected. Those identified are under the control of the TMC,” Bhattacharya said.
The incident occurred during the Women's “The Night Is Ours” protest, when unidentified miscreants forced entry and vandalized the premises of the state medical college shortly after midnight on Thursday. Rioters destroyed the hospital's emergency room, vandalized police posts and vandalized their cars, injuring 15 police officers, many of whom were hospitalized.
The TMC is now using the issue of vandalism to attack its opponents. Around 30 people have been detained by the police so far and according to the chief minister, the Left is behind the incident. Kolkata police released photos of several people believed to be involved. “This is yet another attempt by the Kolkata police to prove their involvement. You don't have to do a lot of research to know that the vandalism is the work of the TMC,” Bhattacharya said.
The TMC and the West Bengal government have been criticized over the rape-murder case, which is currently being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation. “They (TMC) are now looking to do some damage control by shifting focus to vandalism, as the CM has done, pointing out that a lot of expensive equipment was damaged which could have saved lives, and that the late night vandalism has The patients were so scared that they left RG Kar Hospital,” Bhattacharya said.
