Mother of 31-year-old doctor raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar MCH claims some policemen tried to 'vandalize my daughter's car'
The mother of the 31-year-old doctor who was raped and murdered at Kolkata's RG Kar MCH said her daughter did not want to go to the hospital in the last days before the attack. “She used to say she no longer liked going to RG Kar,” the mother said.
She also claimed that Kolkata police made them wait outside the crime scene for three hours to see her body. “They did not let us see our dead daughter's face. We kept pleading but we were not allowed to see her face. We were told that an investigation was underway. They made us suffer a lot.
She also claimed that some police officers tried to “vandalize my daughter's car”. “They were trying to get rid of us as fast as possible. I told them, 'I lost my daughter. Please don't do anything to her car, she loved it. I lost everything,'” she said.
Taking to microblogging site X, BJP leader Amit Malviya accused West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the Kolkata Police of destroying evidence. “Mamata Banerjee and the Kolkata Police Commissioner should stop pretending to be 'holier than thou' because they are both devils,” he said.
Sharing an interview with the late doctor mother, the BJP leader wrote: “Mamata Banerjee is evil. If there is any doubt about her and the Kolkata Police trying to destroy evidence, listen to RG Kar Medicine Mothers of RG Kar rape and murder victims have told how Kolkata police harassed them to the point where they were forced to fall to their knees and, after long hours of persuasion and pleading, say. The Kolkata police even tried to destroy the victim's car before handing over the body… Why?
