A Bengaluru-based techie from Bengaluru was found near a mall in Noida on Thursday evening, days after he went missing on August 4.

The man, a resident of North Bengaluru, was seen coming out of a mall after watching a movie and was taken back to his city by the police on Friday morning.

The technician's wife published a post on social media claiming that police were not doing enough to track down her husband, who she said went missing after going to an ATM to withdraw cash.

The technician, a resident of north Bengaluru, has been missing since August 4, prompting his wife to take to social media to say police were not doing enough to trace her husband. The wife suspects her husband has been kidnapped.

Early in the investigation, police were unable to learn the man's whereabouts because his phone was turned off. Police also checked multiple CCTV cameras at bus stops, railway stations and even the airport, but nothing helped. However, the police helped track him only through a new SIM card purchased by a technician in Noida and inserted into his old phone.

Investigators who encountered the technician as he came out of the mall told him times of india”, “When the three of us surrounded him, he realized that we were police officers in plainclothes. He smiled and asked what to do next? We told him we should fly back to the city, which he strongly objected to.

It took several hours before three officials convinced technicians to fly back. “You put me in prison, I will live there… but I will not come back,” the technician told them. However, when the police told him that the disappearance case filed by his wife could only be concluded in his presence, he agreed.

The police took his statement and sent him home after landing at Kempegowda International Airport on Friday morning. The technician said in his statement that his wife harassed and tortured him.

“I was her second husband. When I met her about three years ago, she was a divorcee with a daughter who was about 12 years old. We have an eight-month-old daughter,” he told police toy.

He further said, “She restricted my freedom and would yell even if a drop of rice or a piece of pancake fell off my plate. I had to dress according to her and could not go out for tea alone.

The man also said the technician had changed his appearance since his wife uploaded videos and photos of him online to announce his disappearance. He apparently shaved his head and changed his appearance.

He took a bus to Tirupati and then a train to Bhubaneswar. From there, he then traveled to Delhi and then Noida, the technician told police.
