    ‘Who surfaced suicide story’: TMC MP wants CBI to question top Kolkata cop summoned by police

    Senior TMC MP Sukhendu Sekhar Ray said the CBI must investigate the alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital fairly. He called for “custodial interrogation” of Kolkata Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal and former principal Dr Sandeep Ghosh, before he was summoned by the police on Sunday. Read more

    Former Jharkhand chief minister and Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) leader Champai Soren on Sunday refuted reports that he had changed sides and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) guess. Champai arrived in the national capital Delhi on Sunday afternoon accompanied by his personal staff amid speculation of a possible replacement in the BJP. He said he came to Delhi for personal work. “My daughter left here and I came here to meet her. I used to come to Delhi. Abhi hum jahan par hai, wahi par hai (where we are now),” he said while speaking to reporters. Read more

    Tariq Kiani, an alleged Canadian-based agent of Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) who owns Republic Plus TV, was attacked at his Surrey store where he ran a printing business, top intelligence sources said.
