In his social media post, the senior TMC MP demanded a “custodial interrogation” by the CBI against the Kolkata police chief and former principal of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital to probe the alleged rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor.
Trinamool Congress MP Sukhendu Sekhar Roy on Monday moved the Calcutta High Court challenging the police notice issued to him in connection with his social media posts regarding the alleged rape and murder of a doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
The Kolkata Police on Sunday issued a notice to the veteran politician, asking him to appear in court.
Justice Rajarshi Bharadwaj allowed Roy's lawyers to file a petition challenging the notification.
The court said it would hear the petition on Tuesday.
