Hundreds of children participated in the Children's Olympics in Chikkamagalur.
The Paris Olympics concluded recently with India winning six medals including five bronze and one silver. This year, the whole world has witnessed the Olympic fever with the outstanding performances of some athletes. To continue the Olympic enthusiasm, a group of event organizers in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, has orchestrated a multi-sport event on the occasion of Independence Day, August 15, 2024, at the Football Turf Club. Children over 6 years old and several months to 5 years old participate. Sports events include different types of competitions. This unique project is named Kiddo Olympics 2024. They were awarded medals and certificates of participation.
Hundreds of children participated in the Children's Olympics held at the Chikkamagalur City Football Stadium. It is organized by Vande Matram Trust. More than a hundred children participated in the Kiddo Olympics. The children completed the competition with the encouragement of their parents and the instructions of the organizers. Many won prizes and others received certificates of participation. The toddler race is for children as young as 6 months old, while the 50m race is for other age groups. Toddler racing is a lot of fun because it's full of dramatic twists and turns. There are 6-7 contestants in the toddler race, and everyone tries their best to reach the finish line. The toddler competition is one of the highlights of this event.
Hurdle races are also part of the event. At the starting line, the children's parents are present to guide their children in running, and another child greets them at the finish line. It helps children understand tasks. This is the first time such a unique event has been organized in the region.

Children between 6 months and 5 years old are eligible to compete in the 2024 Children's Olympics.
The birth certificate and Aadhaar card of the participating children are necessary documents for participating children.
Participants must wear shoes. They are not provided by Children's Olympics organizers.
