In a video that surfaced on social media, ASI Anup Dutta is seen rushing towards the CBI Special Crime Branch office in Kolkata
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Tuesday summoned ASI Anup Dutta, an alleged associate of arrested accused Sanjay Roy in the alleged rape and murder of a 31-year-old PG trainee doctor at RG Kar MCH in Kolkata on August 9. In a video that surfaced on social media, ASI Anup Dutta can be seen rushing towards the CBI Special Crime Branch office in Kolkata. When he reached the CGO building, reporters asked him if he knew Sanjay Roy. The CBI has reportedly started interrogating him.
Accused Sanjay Roy's mother-in-law on Monday alleged that he had “beaten his ex-wife”. She also claimed that Sanjay “beat” his wife, who was three months pregnant, causing her to miscarry. She demanded that Sanjay be “hanged” for his crimes.
“My relationship with him was very tense… They were married for two years… His marriage to my daughter was his second marriage… Initially, for six months everything was fine. When she was three months pregnant , he caused a miscarriage. He beat her and a police complaint was filed. After that, my daughter continued to fall ill and I was responsible for all her medicines… Sanjoy was not in good health.
“Hang him or do whatever you want to him. I'm not going to talk about the crime. He couldn't have done it on his own. He didn't have the ability to do it on his own…” she added.
Sanjay Roy, the accused in the Kolkata RG Kar case, has had many failed marriages. Police also found pornographic content on his phone. Since Sanjay is a citizen volunteer of the Police Welfare Committee, he has easy access to various departments of the hospital.
He was arrested after his activities were found to be very suspicious. Sources also claimed that Sanjay had a history of inappropriate behavior with women at the hospital.
