The IMD has predicted widespread light/moderate rain across Delhi and southwestern National Capital Region.
Heavy rains lashed parts of Delhi on Tuesday, bringing respite from the humidity to people in the national capital. The continuous heavy rain also caused severe flooding in many places and caused traffic congestion.
Severe flooding was reported near the Ashram Bridge after continuous rainfall. On Minto Road, standing water caused parked vehicles to be submerged.
Delhi has experienced heavy rains in the last 24 hours till 8:30 am on August 20. The thickness of Ridge is 72.4 mm, that of Safdarjung is 28.7 mm, that of Lodi Road is 25.6 mm and that of Ayanagar is 2.2 mm.
Flooding also occurred in Derry's Connaught Place.
Meanwhile, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted widespread light/moderate rain across Delhi and southwestern National Capital Territory on Tuesday. The IMD warned that moderate to severe weather will occur in central and eastern Delhi in the morning.

The Met Office has predicted heavy rainfall in Jammu district on Tuesday. Heavy rains are also likely to occur in Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Uttar Pradesh in the next 2-3 days.
Heavy rain is likely to occur in Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh today and in Rajasthan from August 22 to August 25, 2024.
