In the first phase, 16 assembly areas in the southern valley of Kashmir and eight assembly areas in Jammu region will go to polls.
The last date for Phase 1 nominations is August 27, and nomination review will take place on August 28.
The Election Commission on Tuesday issued a notification for the first phase of the three-phase assembly polls in Jammu and Kashmir, in which 24 constituencies will go to polls on September 18.
With the issuance of the notice, the nomination process of candidates has officially started.
The last date for Phase 1 nominations is August 27, and nomination review will take place on August 28.
The last date to withdraw candidacy is August 30 and, if necessary, the date for voting is September 18.
In the first phase, 16 assembly wards in the south Kashmir valley and 8 assembly wards in Jammu region will go to polls. These seats are Pamppore, Tral, Pulwama, Rajpora, Zainapora, Shopian, DH Pora, Kulgam, Devsar, Dooru, Kokernag (ST), Anantnag West, Anantnag, Srigufwara-Bijbehara, Shangus-Anantg East and Pahalgam in Kashmir Valley.
Inderwal, Kishtwar, Padder-Nagseni, Bhadarwah, Doda, Doda West, Ramban and Banihal are going to vote in Jammu region.
